Tutus and Ties 5k and Fun Run
Join Alpha Alpha Lambda Omega Chapter for our inaugural Tutus and Ties 5K and Fun Run, for all those who celebrate community, unity, and running for a purpose. Grab a friend and join this fun event. Proceeds benefit AAΛΩ Programs of Service that support our service areas in Prince George County, MD.
All paces and ages (under 18 with guardian) are welcome - Run or Walk! The Fun Run is untimed however, runner’s times for the 5k will be available following completion of the race on Run SignUp. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite tutu and/or tie (bowties count), through a serene run through the scenic town of Cheverly, MD. Can’t join us in person for the 5k and still want to participate? Race with us virtually! Just choose the virtual 5k option and receive instructions for joining AALO from wherever you are in the world.
Sponsorship opportunities are available at the platinum, gold, and silver level. With your participation as a sponsor, we can ensure the success of this event and make a real difference in the lives of those that we serve to include community scholarships. Laces & Pearls Sneaker Ball
Join Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Alpha Alpha Lambda Omega (AAS) on October 5, 2024 as we host Laces & Pearls Sneaker Ball Gala and Silent Auction Fundraiser at Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center, College Park, Maryland.
Join us for an evening of fun and FUNdraising, as we raise money for our local programs of service and scholarships!
ACCEPTED ATTIRE: FORMAL | COCKTAIL SUITS | DRESSES | SNEAKERS | NO JEANS
Ticket entry includes admission, food, beverages, and photo opportunities. Separate entry fee is required to participate in the sneaker ball contest with cash prizes. We will also host special celebrity guest DJ Quicksilva.
This is a 21 and over event - ID is required for entry!

A big feature of Laces & Pearls is the silent auction. If you would be so inclined to donate, we are seeking high end items valued at $100 or more such as: sorority/fraternity baskets or items, airline tickets, wine tours/ baskets, cruises, sporting event tickets and memorabilia, beauty/personal services, hotel stays, vacation packages, gift baskets, lessons, event tickets, artwork, spa day, dinner with a exec/CEO, designer items, exclusive experiences, golf outings, theme park tickets, fitness classes, legal services, concert tickets, or a gift certificate.
